Redemption Communities (RCs) are several smaller groups formed out of the overall Redemption North Mountain family, in which people can know and be known by others in a more intimate space, stir up affections towards God, and be propelled towards locally-based service.

These groups meet weekly in homes and live out the one another’s according to the Bible: Love one another (John 13:34), Be devoted to one another (Romans 12:10), Admonish one another (Colossians 3:16), Serve one another (Galatians 5:13), Bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), Comfort one another (1 Thessalonians 4:18), Pray for one another (James 5:16) and many more!

Practically, we see this fleshed-out through studying scripture together, praying, sharing good food, celebrating birthdays, hospital visits, meal trains, serving those in need, giving to the poor, and countless other ways.

Frequently Asked Questions

1 | What do we study in RCs?

Generally, groups study the sermon from Sunday through discussion questions prepared by leaders. Sometimes other content will be discussed but sermon-based discussion is the normal discipleship content.

2 | What about my kids?

Each RC has the freedom to decide how to handle kids in the group. You will want to ask Anthony or the RC leader about the childcare setup for each particular group.

About Chris + Jen Smith

Chris Smith:

I’m married to my best friend Jen. She is a fantastic wife and loving Mom! I’m a Dad to 2 children: Alexia and Landon. As a family we like to eat, hangout with friends, swim and fight with each other.

I grew up in a Christian home and I became a follower of Jesus at a was very young age. One of my earliest memories is when I was 3 or 4 years old and I was in the bathroom taking care of business when I called out to my mom to come here. She asked if I was done and I replies I am ready to ask Jesus into my heart. We prayed together. Yes right there. In the bathroom. On the toilet. From then on life was roses and ice cream, no issues ever!

God shows me grace every day as I, a sinful human, tries to navigate life while honoring him and conforming to his word and will. Jen and I recently started attending Redemption North Mountain in April and have never felt so at home at a church before. We have already completed the membership course under Josh’ leadership and are extremely excited to be opening out home as we lead a RC!
