R/Youth
help us fund our mission trip
We will spend President’s Day Weekend in Puerto Penasco, Mexico, collaborating with a fantastic organization called 1Mission. Our students will help build a home for a family in Mexico, who have already been serving their community and local church. This is sure to be an unforgettable experience for our students!
WHEN do we meet?
We meet on Sunday afternoons at 12:30pm-2:15pm in the Youth Room at Redemption North Mountain (7th St + Thunderbird).
Who are we?
We are JR High + High School students (6th-12th grade).
What we do?
Know. Love. Center.
R/Youth is a place:
Where the name and story of each student is known.
That loves students regardless of cultural differences, beliefs, behaviors, or personality.
That centers our students around Jesus by inviting them into his radical, soul-filling, heart-softening, world-changing life and mission.
We do this because God loves the Youth.
how do we do this?
Relationship - Our desire isn’t to disconnect students from the main congregation at North Mountain to a youth ministry “island”, but rather to ensure students are considered and treated as essential members of the church community. R/Youth is a spiritual support for parents/families and a joyful encouragement for all RNM members regardless of their season or position in life.
We do this through Sunday gatherings, Camps, Fun Events, and In-Between Spaces (i.e. graduations, sporting events, grabbing burgers at McDonald’s, etc).
Serving - Students aren’t preparing to be the Church someday — they are the Church today! This means that we will prioritize being the hands and feet of God by displaying & embodying the love of Jesus through serving others.
We do this through working alongside our Local ministry to serve ministry partners (through clean-up days, serving meals, childcare, etc) going on Mission Trips (both local and across the border) and within our own walls (by preparing communion, serving the R/Kids ministry, etc).
Discipleship - We view discipleship as collaborative – our aim is to come alongside parents/families by providing tools and resources, while offering specific spaces that will supplement a student’s walk with Jesus.
We do this through Sunday gatherings, classes, and one-on-one mentorship.
